I'll be the first to admit, upon reading the premise, I was a bit skeptical about this book. I mean, I love Laura as much as the next guy but international-action-hijinks -- really? Boy, was I wrong. Through a combination of engaging prose and breakneck pacing, our author is really able to sell the narrative. I don't want to spoil the magic but this gripping chronicle also features some fun cameos by other prominent figures from the American political landscape. (Albeit under clever pseudonyms) These true-to-life characters are weaved seamlessly into a fictional timeline eerily similar to our own. Now I will warn you, this little baby is quite the page-turner. So before you embark on this epic journey, make sure you've got a comfy chair, your best reading glasses, and perhaps a tooth-cracking-cold beverage to sip along the way. What are you waiting for? Fun is LOOMING right over your shoulder.
